Computex 2014 – GIGABYTE launches GA-Z97X-SOC Force LN2
Computex is starting tomorrow, but that does not mean that the goodies didn’t start to show up yet. As the dragon boat festival takes place today in Taiwan, and GIGABYTE’s press conference is ready to take off at the Brown Sugar club, we took a sneak peak at GIGABYTE’s latest motherboard. And guess what – it is built for overclockers, and not just any overclockers but extreme overclockers. Yaaay!
As you might know, the GIGABYTE OC series took off with X58A-OC, one of the best X58 motherboards out there. The series was discontinued on Z68 (booo) but it made it’s comeback with Z87, and of course with the Z97 SOC Force model.
Well, if you liked that one, check this out – GIGABYTE just released GA-Z97X-SOC Force LN2, a motherboard tailored for extreme overclockers. The motherboard has just 2 memory slots and no holes for the cooler, so the memory slots are as close as possible to the socket and the electrical signal is as clean as possible. As you can imagine, this motherboard is meant to be a DDR record breaker and I am happy to see that GIGABYTE finally gave us a tool for this types of things. After all, I think we are all tired of using the Impact for breaking DDR records, am I right?
UPDATE – Hicookie just broke DDR3 4500 live on stage, using GA-Z97X-SOC Force LN2 and Kingston memory!
